IBS is looking to fill the role of account manager in it’s JHB-based team, based on the rapid growth of the business. This is a mid-to-senior position, with a requirement for independence and an ability to work with minimal supervision towards the implementation of all client strategic goals.

Reporting directly to the Strategic Director, the account manager will be involved in all IBS client management for existing accounts, allowing the Strategic Director to pursue new business development. The account manager needs to be versatile in being able to handle different clients needs across various sectors, like finance, corporate, consumer brands and government agencies.

The successful candidate should have:

  • 3-5 years experience working in an integrated brand/communications agency in a client services and strategic position
  •  Appropriate qualification in strategic communications, branding and marketing or public relations
  • Client account management experience, that involves implementation of approved strategy and the day-to-day management of client relationships. This includes weekly meetings, briefing to media buying, digital, PR and creative collages; compilation of all reporting (status, monthly, quarterly) and brainstorming as required
  • The candidate must feel confident enough to drive each account they work on, under the guidance of the Strategic Director
  • Experience in strategy development would be beneficial
  • Full understanding of above-, below- and through-the-line communications activities is a requirement
  • Experience in compiling and making presentations is a requirement
  • Understanding of communications measurement tools would be advantageous
  • A thorough understanding of all media platforms, and the full work-flow processes for communications tools and platforms



IBS offers the flexibility of a hybrid working environment which is primarily remote (work from home), with face-to-face meetings with colleagues and clients as required. The working hours are fluid, and will require some evening and weekend work, especially when Client campaigns are active at the same time. The environment is fast-paced and the successful candidate must be able to plug in seamlessly.

There may be a periodic need to travel for work.
The account manager should have their own laptop computer with a reliable wifi connection; and their own cellphone. While a vehicle is not a must, the account manager will need to be able to
get to/from meetings on time as may be required.


The company is prepared to offer remuneration that is market-related and commensurate with experience.
